Seven Eagles

Charlotte's First Guard-Gated Enclave at Quail Hollow

Seven Eagles was Charlotte's first guard-gated community, developed in the 1980s by the Harris Land Company as the first phase of a roughly 120-acre master-planned neighborhood beside Quail Hollow Club, home of the PGA Tour's Wells Fargo Championship. Behind its 24-hour guarded entrance sit fewer than 100 custom estate homes, most built between the mid-1980s and the mid-2000s, on wooded lots that back up to the golf course and give the neighborhood a private, park-like feel just minutes from SouthPark.

There's no clubhouse or community pool here; Seven Eagles' value comes from privacy, mature landscaping, and proximity to some of Charlotte's best golf, dining, and shopping rather than shared recreation. Lots average around a third of an acre, but wooded buffers and generous setbacks make many properties feel considerably larger, and the custom brick and stone architecture ranges from traditional estate homes to sprawling contemporary builds pushing past 12,000 square feet.

HOA & Community Amenities

Seven Eagles is run by the Seven Eagles Homeowners Association, established in the mid-1990s. Its main job is the neighborhood's signature amenity, the 24-hour guarded, gated entrance, along with upkeep of common areas and entrance landscaping. There's no community clubhouse, pool, or fitness center; residents instead lean on nearby Quail Hollow Club for golf, tennis, and dining.

Public data aggregators list Seven Eagles dues anywhere from roughly $500 to over $900 a month depending on the source and year, a range wide enough that you should treat it as a starting point, not a quote. Confirm current dues, covenants, and any special assessments directly with the HOA or through your closing attorney before making decisions.

Location & Lifestyle

Seven Eagles sits in the 28210 zip code in south Charlotte, wrapping around part of Quail Hollow Club just off Runnymede Lane and Rea Road, a few minutes from SouthPark's malls, restaurants, and offices. The gated streets, Eagle Glen, Winged Bourne, and Double Eagle Gate Way among them, wind through wooded, golf-adjacent lots that feel a world away from the density of SouthPark despite being minutes from it.

SouthPark's shops and restaurants are about 5 to 10 minutes away, Ballantyne is roughly 15 minutes south, uptown Charlotte is about 20 minutes north, and Charlotte Douglas International Airport is around 20 to 25 minutes west. Freedom Park and several other south Charlotte greenways are a short drive away, and Quail Hollow Club itself, host of the PGA Tour's Wells Fargo Championship, borders the neighborhood directly.
