Jetton Park
Jetton Park covers 104 acres on the southeastern shore of Lake Norman in Cornelius, tucked into the cove at Ramsey Creek. It is a Mecklenburg County park, it is free, and it is mostly trees. A 1.5-mile paved loop runs the perimeter under heavy shade, and the west-facing shoreline makes it one of the better sunset spots on the lake.

There is real sand on the waterfront and it is a popular spot to sit, read and watch boats. Swimming is not permitted anywhere in the park.

What To Do at Jetton
It is a park, so the honest answer is walk around and look at the water. But there is more here than most people find on a first visit.
The Paved Loop and Bike Trail
About 25 to 30 minutes at a walking pace. Benches and picnic decks are spaced along the water side.
Sunning Beach and Shoreline
A North Carolina fishing license is required for anglers 16 and over.

Know Before You Go
There is no entrance fee and no pass to buy. Parking is first come, first served along the interior loop road, and on a warm Saturday it fills, so come early or come late. Swimming is not allowed anywhere in the park, including at the beach, which surprises a lot of first-time visitors. Dogs are welcome on leash. Picnic decks, the beach, the garden and gazebo and Waterfront Hall can all be reserved, and Waterfront Hall rentals run in five-hour blocks with beer and wine permits sold separately. County parks generally operate from early morning to sunset. Confirm current hours, fees and reservation policies with Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation before you go.

Jetton Park is at 19000 Jetton Road in Cornelius 28031, west off Catawba Avenue and about five minutes from I-77 exit 28. Jetton Village sits at the entrance with a grocery store and a handful of restaurants, and the gates of The Peninsula are right there. Birkdale Village is roughly ten minutes north, downtown Davidson about fifteen, and uptown Charlotte runs twenty-five to thirty-five minutes depending on I-77 traffic. Ramsey Creek Park, the closest public swimming beach and boat ramp, is a few minutes further up the shoreline.
